TRANSCRIPT:

Ciao! My name is April Dawn, and I’m the Lead Senior Instructional Designer and Faculty Consultant at the Center for the Advancement of Faculty Excellence, known as CAFE, at Cal Poly Pomona.

Today, I’m excited to share our innovative approach to course improvement: “Espresso” Reviews: Fast, Focused Course Feedback for Quality Assurance. Picture this - detailed, confidential, and fast feedback on your course, all based on the California State University’s Quality Learning & Teaching (QLT) Rubric.

In just a few hours, two trained CAFE instructional designers will dive into your Canvas course, providing in-depth, focused feedback. This includes a confidential written report and a one-hour Zoom consultation with you to discuss course insights and recommendations. While a full QLT review can take weeks, our Espresso Reviews are completed in just hours and can be requested by any of our Cal Poly Pomona faculty.

And the response from faculty? “Eccellente!” Faculty love the speed, focus, and quality of the feedback, which helps them improve their courses quickly and effectively.
